Professor Sir Brian Hoskins is one of the world's leading meteorologists. Professor Hoskins was made a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1988 and knighted in 2007. "From our science we can advise governments and influence policy," asserts Professor Hoskins who played a leading role in a report highlighting the serious large-scale environmental impact of ever increasing air travel. "There is much uncertainty in our understanding of how climate may change because of human activity, however all our understanding and models, from the simplest to the ones needing the latest supercomputer tell us we are doing something serious to the climate system." Professor Hoskins advises governments across the globe on climate change. Aviva, the savings, investments and insurance group, worked with RSA Films, a production company founded by Ridley and Tony Scott, to create a series of short films that demonstrate different aspects of forward thinking.
